My stay at Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai was a mixed experience. While the location was fantastic and the aesthetic charm of the hotel stood out, the service left much to be desired. The rooms were spacious but could use some updates, and the overall dining experience was just okay.
Rooms
6.0
The rooms were large and reasonably furnished, although they felt dated and not as impressive as the hotel exterior. I enjoyed the view of the pagodas from my window, but the shower heads were not ideal for taller guests. The thin walls made it easy to hear noises from adjacent rooms.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, the service did not meet my expectations. The front desk staff seemed overwhelmed, and I encountered issues with my room arrangements. Even after prior communication, my requests weren’t fulfilled, and the responsiveness was lacking. I appreciated the efforts of a cashier who helped retrieve my security deposit, but overall, the front desk could improve significantly.
Location
9.0
The location was a primary highlight of my stay. Being right next to the Night Market made it super convenient for shopping and dining. Plus, I discovered a great Indian restaurant just outside the hotel, which was an unexpected plus.
Dining
7.0
I found the breakfast to be good but not lovely, offering a mix of international and local dishes. I enjoyed a vegetarian meal from the restaurant, and while there could have been more vegan options, I appreciated the variety available.
Facilities
7.0
I loved the swimming pool area that offered beautiful views of Doi Suthep. The fitness centre was well-equipped, making it easy to stay active during my visit. However, the elevators were a bit small and crowded, which was a minor inconvenience.

My stay at Duangtawan Hotel was a mixed experience. The location near the night market is fantastic, but the hotel itself feels dated and in need of updates. I enjoyed the rooftop pool, but the noise levels and hard mattress made it hard to relax.

The room was large, but very outdated. The mattress was extremely hard, making it uncomfortable for a good night's sleep. However, I appreciated the size and amenities like the mini bar and kettle.

I found the service to be hit or miss. While the staff at the concierge were helpful, I experienced a lack of attention from others, which left me feeling a bit neglected.
Location

The location is ideal. Being right next to the night market provided easy access to shops, cafes, and restaurants. I loved being able to walk to many attractions.
Dining

The breakfast buffet was a letdown. Although it included many options, the food was often cold and lacked flavor, which wasn’t what I expected.
Facilities

The rooftop pool was a nice touch. The gym was good too, but the overall facilities felt like they could use a refresh to match the hotel's prime location.

I had an overall decent stay at Duangtawan Hotel, which impressed me mostly with its location near the Night Bazaar and the old city. The room was spacious but showed its age, needing a bit of modernization. Breakfast options were okay, with plenty of variety but lacking in freshness. I found the staff to be helpful at times, but some aspects of service could be improved.
